UX/UI Designer & Environmental Artist
I grew up in the Netherlands watching my father play video games, and by age three I was playing games myself. Twisted Metal, Burnout and Serious Sam became early obsessions. Fast 3D worlds where the menus, sounds, and environments all felt deliberately shaped. Even as a kid I had a sharp sense of perfectionism. My parents still tell the story of how I used to align all my military toy cars in a row. I align buttons and text now :)
Karate came first and gave me discipline and composure under pressure. Football came next, I played in a defensive position because the overview suited me, and eventually took on volunteer coaching for younger players. My first taste of guiding a team rather than just being in one. I almost studied physiotherapy, but switched to CMGT at the last moment. It was the right call. Design rewarded the part of me that wanted to oversee projects, steer them, and think strategically.
I'm a quiet designer by default where I think more rather than speak. The work has taught me when to push back and contribute vocally. My strengths sit in strategic thinking, perspective-taking, and problem-solving, and game technologies is the field where all of that finally clicked.
